We view our Field Staff as critically important members of our team. The Site Supervisor ‘owns’ your job, and will be the key to the completion of your project, both on time, and on budget. At E&M, we have worked hard to find and retain the very best site supervisors. They share our passion for excellence and operate with our values of ‘honesty and integrity’. Head Office Team

Donny Emmons

Chief Estimator

Donald Emmons worked in the field as laborer/carpenter and transitioned to a project manager within the 5 years he started. He graduated from St. Lawrence College from the Civil Engineering Technology program and is now working in the office as the head Estimator. He has been head Estimator for 7 years now and each year growing the firms construction ability and volume to the next level. 

Mark Emmons

President

Mark joined E&M in 1984 and has worked in the field for eight years on a variety of projects in and around the Kingston area. Mark became President of the company at the end of 2016. Mark was the past Chairman of the Labour Management Health & Safety Committee in Kingston and served on the Board of Directors of the Construction Safety Association of Ontario. Mark became President of the Kingston Construction Associate (2009). Mark offers over 34 years of knowledge and expertise, and is an important asset at E&M.

Luke Emmons

Project Manager

Luke joined Emmons & Mitchell Construction in 2010.  From commencing as a carpenter he has transitioned to a site superintendent and then a project management role.  Luke’s continues to expand his construction knowledge through management of a variety of projects at but not limited to renovations at Queen’s University, Defence Construction Canada, Limestone District School Board, and the Canadian hearing society and a variety of new construction projects for the County and Kingston area.  

Bob Vinkle

Project Manager

Robert (Bob) Vinkle has been a dedicated employee of Emmons and Mitchell since 1973.  He joined E&M directly from high school, worked as a carpenter, then an Estimator, a Principle in the company and is now our most senior Project Manager.  Bob is currently focused on a new Academic facilty for the Algonquin and Lakeshore District school board and still finds time to complete a few small scale projects concurrently.  Bob list of projects is endless however a few recent accomplishments include, the Plumbers Union Hall in Kingston, various Queen’s university renovations, RMCP R15 and 16 heritage restoration and renovation work, MH 36 interior renovations and envelope upgrades and the Dan Keyes Collision Center.

Matt Waitson

Project Manager

Matt joined E&M back in 2016. Matt  has studied both heritage carpentry and millwork, as well as the completion of his red seal Carpentry Certificate which makes him an asset for historic and detailed project work.  Matt acts as a lead project manager for our Healthcare and Dupont Clients as well as School board work.   Some of the projects that Matt has overseen are multi-phase  Hotel Dieu renovations including critical flood repairs at Hotel Dieu Hospital, ongoing Dupont laboratory and facility maintenance upgrade and Historical Masonry reconstructions for the City of Kingston.  Matt is currently focused on commencing the new Hospice Kingston Facility.

Colleen Ryan

Project Manager

Colleen joined Emmons & Mitchell in 2020.  After graduating from Architectural Technology, she has transitioned from Architectural Consulting with a specialty in Healthcare and Contract management to Construction Management. With 17 years of experience in the industry, she doesn’t shy away from a challenge and looks forward to working collaboratively with both Owners and Consultants to bring projects to completion.  She is currently focusing efforts on a new large scale fabrication facility and renovations/ multi-addition project at the County of Frontenac.  She is well versed in Military projects for Defence Construction Canada and has completed Facility upgrades at both Trenton and Kingston bases at but not limited to Hangar upgrades, access control defense systems and heating and electrical renovations.

Kyle McMahon

Project Coordinator

Kyle was hired in 2017, he studied Civil engineering technology and has an extensive background in Construction. Kyle is also Co-chair of the JHSC for larger sites here in Kingston. Kyle’s past projects include Duncan McArthur Hall, Stauffer Library and Botterall Hall at Queen’s University as well as multiple projects for LDSB and ALSCB school boards. 

Tony Pascoal

Project Manager

Tony Pascoal, P.Eng. PMP, GSC, is a Professional Engineer, Project Manager and Design Builder. He brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in the construction industry.  Tony started his construction career with Emmons and Mitchell back in 1980 for 6 years then went onto to obtain additional experiences and has recently returned.  He has a substantial knowledge of Heritage Restoration and Design Build practices. Tony has exceptional communication skills, which he uses to assist various stakeholders in defining clear goals and objectives. He can drive the design and construction team to achieve those goals within schedule, scope, and budget. 

Debbie Mack

Payroll & Head Reception

Debbie Mack joined E&M in 2006. Debbie’s outstanding work ethic allows her to handle many important tasks including payroll, accounts payable, reception and communication, sub-contracting agreements, fleet vehicle management and close out documentation for all projects. Debbie also works with our estimators to prepare proposals and quotations for tender closings.

Kim Keller

accounting

Kim has been with E&M for one year now. She went to St. Lawrence to get her Business Administration/Finance Diploma and brings over 15 years of payroll and accounting experience to the firm. Kim has worked payroll/accounting administration for companies such as Bosal Canada INC., and Empire Life, and has demonstrated a strong ability to plan and schedule work activities considering priorities, workload and timelines.

Jen Bardy

Project Coordinator

Jen was hired in March of 2023. She plays a key role in offering support to staff, trades and clients with our project management software. Jen specializes in data entry and technical assistance.

Brent Mitchell

SITE SUPERVISOR

Brent has been with E&M since 1997 and has worked in both the office and field.  He is currently a Senior Site Superintendent and works on various projects from Military to office and academic renovations.  He is an excellent problem solver who is an asset to any project.  He is currently focused on a multi-addition/ renovation project for the County of Frontenac.  Some of his recent projects include, a variety of renovations and upgrade at CFB Kingston, Roofing and mechanical upgrades to the Gananoque Secondary School.

Sheldon Vankoughnett

Site supervisor

Sheldon has been with E&M since 2003. He is a fully licensed carpenter and one of our senior Site Superintendents.  Sheldon is a schedule driven person who assists on primarily large scale work as he is able to work with large teams. Some of his recent accomplishments are a Hangar in Trenton Ontario, major renovations at Loyalist College, Memorial Center Pool construction, Queen’s University John Deutsch Centre Window Restorations and Ellis Hall Lab Renovations.  His polite and approachable attitude is of benefit with Clients and Trades alike. 

Andy Guthro

SITE SUPERVISOR

Andy has been with E&M for over 10 years.  He is a senior Site Superintendent who believes in positivity to move projects forward.  Andy is currently working in Belleville on a large scale Algonquin and Lakeshore District School new construction facility.   Some examples of his past projects include, major renovations to Loyalist College, Custom home and detailed renovations at residences throughout the Kingston Area, a new daycare facility in Picton, the Bayridge Bible Chapel, Rolade Reality & Residential Complex Upgrades, and the Cataraqui Dental Clinic.  Andy is an asset to have on any team.

David Andersen

Site SuperVISOR

Dave has worked with E&M for over 10 years and is a fully licensed carpenter. Dave has worked in the industry for over 25 years and has acted as a site supervisor for E&M on many projects such as Bellevue House HVAC Retrofit, LDSB Accessibility Renovations to Marysville, Central and Enterprise P.S., HDH Johnson 4 Soiled Room Renovation, KGH Douglas Wing Scoping Suite HVAC Replacement, and a three phase addition and Elevator installation at Kimco Steel Sales Kingston .

Matt Dowling

Site SuperVISOR

Matt has been with E&M since 2016.  He continues to thrive in our company and is taking on larger scale projects, yet he is still comfortable working on smaller renovations.  No matter the size of project, Matt strives for Client satisfaction.  He has completed a variety of projects with us such as renovations at Dupont, the new Plumbers Union Hall and Training facility in Kingston,  and is currently focused on a new large scale storage facility and office building.

Adrian Droogh

Site Supervisor

Adrian has worked as a carpenter in the Kingston area for the past 17 years, developing a broad range of skills and experience. Since joining E/M in 2018, he has supervised several healthcare, academic faciality and heritage projects.    Examples of his work with E/M are the HDH Sydenham Wing Interior Restoration, KFPL Bishop House Exterior Restoration, Queen’s Ban Righ Hall & McLaughlin Hall Window Replacement.

David Gardner

Site Supervisor

Dave has been with Emmons and Mitchell for over 5 years and works as both a Site Superintendent and Carpenter. David brings his knowledge as a red seal carpenter and years of expertise to complete projects of varying complexity and excels on projects with intricate deals. He is currently working at Dupont managing laboratory and facility maintenance upgrades. He is getting set to transition to the Site Superintendent role at the new Hospice Kingston Facility. He has an overseen a variety of academic renovations at Loyalist College, and a variety of facilities for the LDSB and ALCSB.

Ryan Blakley

Site Supervisor

Ryan joined Emmons and Mitchell in 2022, he brings 15 years experience in carpentry and has managed upwards of one hundred plus residential projects before coming over to E&M. He has overseen Nicholson College renovations and Trenton Air Base since joining the team.

Paul Fischkohl

Paul has been with E&M since May of 2007 and has become more involved in our health and safety program. Paul is now also Co-chair and certified member of JHSC.  He is a valuable member at E&M team and transitions to various roles as needed. He has been involved in several projects such as VB01, the military communications and electronics museum, empire life, the memorial pool and water park, and the Trenton hangar renovation. If help is needed, Paul will assist.

Andrew Morrin

Site Supervisor

Originally from New Zealand (Not Australia), Andrew started in the commercial construction sector working on mid sized apartment builds. Not too long into his apprenticeship, he switched to residential housing, wanting to focus on building high quality homes. For 15 years he built many outstanding houses including some winning regional and national building awards. 

Moving to Canada in 2015 for what was a 2 year holiday, he met his now wife and decided to switch back to commercial construction.

Andrew has been living in the Kingston region now for 5 years and has worked on and supervised projects including community centres and multi storey apartment buildings.  

Marco Machado

Site Supervisor

Marco was hired on summer of 2017 as a fully licensed carpenter. Since then, he has developed into a site supervisory role with Emmons and Mitchell, while maintaining his skills as a carpenter. He has overseen projects for both LDSB and DCC as well as some smaller client projects. Marco has drive and determination to ensure all of his projects follow the schedule set out and hit deadline needs.

Dylan Kusters

Site SuperVISOR

Dylan is a fully licensed carpenter had been with Emmons and Mitchell since 2020. He has been working as a carpenter and a supervisor at a variety of different jobs for LDSB, KHSC, DuPont and Invista. Dylan has worked as a carpenter for 17 years and is currently working at DuPont managing laboratory and facility maintenance upgrades.
